Child’s Play

Normal means
we’ll have more
for you later

there isn’t a date
that stays long
enough to remember

You craft the day
by making a box
out of your fingers

thinking a frame,
but only changing
the shape of your eye.

You might as well
close your hands over
them, as if no one

can see you.
