You May Have Heard This Before

And without what
taints flesh
an open mouth smile

all sorrow betrayed
to sleep stain
belief, undivided

eruption twitch
gesture becomes hand
sight separates lids

breath unknown to
repetition,
they say nothing

new under the sun
and then
they say it again.
