What kind of sleep
must I have had
to spend the day
being reminded
of half dreams from 
the night before
in need of forty
winks or more
to complete the cycle
perhaps I’ll recall
in another life
the days I spent
blinking half awake
from start to finish 
surely I’ve written 
about this before but
it takes too much effort
to look up those words
when I don’t know what
I am looking for
